BASILICA OF S. VITALE

The basilica of S. Vitale was built by Giuliano Argentario on commission by Bishop Ecclesius (521/534) and consecrated on 547 by Archibishop Maximian. The basilica is included in the zone where the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia is.
