For the year 2002 the Archiepiscopal Museum and  the Chapel of Sant'Andrea will be closed for repairs. It will be possible to see the main pieces of the Archiepiscopal Museum, including Ivory Throne, in a room inside the Archbishopric.

a) In order to avoid long queues, you should book your visit. We recommend the following months: November-December-January-February.
b) From 1st March to 15th June the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia can be visited only by prior reservations with preferential access.
From 3st to 4th November the visit of the Basilica of S. Vitale is sospended from 10.30a.m. to 11.30a.m. on Sunday. The Mausoleum of Galla Placidia remains open even during church service.
